Introduction to Chair of the Culture Review

On 17 February, the Independent Chairperson of the Culture Review within South Wales Fire and Rescue Service was confirmed as Fenella Morris King’s Counsel (KC). 

Fenella Morris KC has provided an update on the Culture Review. Fenella said “I am honoured to have been appointed to head the Independent Culture Review of South Wales Fire and Rescue Service. I am currently putting together a diverse team to help with this important work, which will explore all aspects of the culture within the Service.  

The Review will be conducted with openness and balance. It will not shy away from any sensitive issues that might arise and it will identify both positive and negative aspects of the culture. 

I want to make sure that the Review listens to everyone, and helps each person feel safe and able to share their experiences, good or bad. I am dedicated to ensuring confidentiality as far as I am lawfully able to do so and, with this in mind, I encourage people to speak up with anything they have to share.”
