Incident update 10:35 20 January 2024

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service (SWFRS), alongside South Wales Police and the Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), attended an incident at Bridgend Industrial Estate yesterday evening at approximately 20.30hrs.

On arrival, crews were faced with a well-developed fire at a substantial commercial unit. Multiple appliances and crews attended and Firefighters worked tirelessly throughout the night to bring the fire under control at approximately 08:00 hours this morning.

Resources have been scaled back to an Aerial Ladder Platform and two Water Ladders. Crews remain at the scene and the public are advised to avoid the area until all cordens are lifted. SWFRS would like to thank the local community and our blue light partners for bringing this incident to a safe conclusion.
