South Wales Firefighters Tackle Greek Wildfires

Firefighters with specialist wildfire knowledge and experience from South Wales have been deployed to Athens in Greece to help tackle the devastating ongoing wildfire crisis.

As part of the National Fire Chief Council’s National Resilience Team four firefighters from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service’s including those from the Service’s specialist wildfire team have volunteered alongside other firefighting colleagues from Merseyside, Lancashire, London and West Midlands. Together, they will work to battle the blazes alongside Greek firefighters.

As a Service we are proud to continue a long tradition of providing support to colleagues across the world and all our thoughts are with those affected by this tragedy.
