Firefighters extinguish accidental fire in Bridgend

Multiple crews attended an incident at Village Farm Industrial Estate in Bridgend on Monday (11 April, 2022) following reports of a large commercial fire.

Firefighters from Fire and Rescue Stations across South Wales, including Kenfig Hill, Porthcawl and Pontypridd, attended the scene and worked alongside emergency service colleagues to secure the area.

Crews at the scene used a range of specialist equipment including hose reel jets, breathing apparatuses and a triple extension ladder to extinguish the fire which affected approximately three ISO containers and two vehicles.

The suspected cause of the fire was deemed to be accidental ignition and crews later returned to the scene to carry out a re-inspection of the property as a safety precaution.
