Firefighters rescue elderly occupant from house fire in Bridgend
Crews from Bridgend and Maesteg responded to a call in the early hours of Thursday 12th September 2019 following reports of a house fire in the Coytrahen area of Bridgend.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus equipment located an elderly occupant in the first floor of the property, and pitched a triple extension ladder to the front of property, successfully rescuing the occupant, who was treated by paramedics at the scene, and extinguishing the fire.
The occupant was later transported to hospital for further treatment. A fire investigation is still in progress to establish the cause of the fire.
Station Manager Richie Smart said: ‘I would like to commend crews on their swift actions which ensured the occupant was rescued quickly.”
