South Wales Fire and Rescue Service enters Memorandum of Understanding with Medserve Wales

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service (SWFRS) is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Medserve Wales. This new partnership aims to strengthen collaboration between the two organisations in supporting the community through enhanced emergency response services.

Medserve Wales, a South Wales-based charity affiliated with the British Association of Immediate Care, provides volunteer specialist clinicians to assist emergency services in managing complex incidents. Their highly trained professionals bring valuable skills, expertise, and advanced equipment, ensuring better outcomes for those in need across South Wales.

Dr. Ian Bowler, Consultant Anaesthetist, Critical Care Consultant, and Chairman/Clinical Lead for Medserve Wales, commented:

“Medserve’s response car, DR01, is based at Caerphilly Emergency Services Station. Medserve Wales is very pleased to now be entering into a collaboration with SWFRS in the form of an MOU around the maintenance of our response car and further joint training.”

The partnership is further supported by SWFR’s ACFO Brian Thompson and Legal Services Manager and Interim Monitoring Officer, Gabbie Greathead, who in a joint statement said:

“This MOU strengthens our relationship and reinforces the importance of collaborative initiatives and work that lead to better outcomes for our communities in their time of need.”
