Protecting you for 25 years…#SWFRS25
As South Wales Fire and Rescue Service we are extremely proud to commemorate 25 years of keeping you safe.
The Service was established in 1996 following the merger of the former Fire Brigades of South Glamorgan, Mid Glamorgan and Gwent.
We have seen many changes over the past 25 years, but what has not changed is our dedication to serving our communities and how proud we are to be there for you, when you need us most.
Over the next few months we look forward to sharing photos and memories of the last 25 years and our plans for the future.
In celebration, Chief Fire Officer Huw Jakeway QFSM said: “Over the next few months staff and firefighters, serving and retired, will come together to share their memories and experiences about life in the Service over the decades. Technology has advanced to transform the way we work, however what has not changed is our passion and commitment to keep you safe. We have continued to honour our Service vision and our values by serving our communities with the utmost of professionalism and dedication. Together our sense of community service, hard work and commitment to those we serve has been unwavering, even during the most challenging and complex times. I am extremely proud our education and prevention programmes, our protection activities and our emergency operational response, what we provide I know is ‘World Class’ and I thank every single member of #TeamSouthWales for the amazing job they do day in day out. I would also like to thank the communities that we serve for your unwavering public support we have had over the last 25 years, and I invite you to follow our campaign and celebrate this milestone with us by sharing your memories, using the hashtag #SWFRS25.”
